§ 2-107. Intent.

  • It is the intent of this article to promote, protect and improve the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the city by creating the code enforcement board, an administrative board with authority to impose administrative fines and other noncriminal penalties and to provide an equitable, expeditious, effective and inexpensive method of enforcing the codes and ordinances in force in the city where a pending or repeated violation exists. The code enforcement board has the authority to hold hearings and assess fines against violators of the city codes and ordinances.
