§ 2-194. Special master—Qualifications and removal.

  • (1)

    The special master shall be a person licensed to practice law in the state. Appointments shall be made by the city manager on the basis of experience or interest in code enforcement. Such appointments shall be submitted to the city council for ratification.

    (2)

    The city manager shall appoint one or more special masters as are deemed necessary, with such appointments being subject to ratification by the city council. The city manager shall have authority to remove a special master with or without cause.

    (3)

    A special master shall not be city employees, but shall be compensated at a rate to be determined by administrative action.
