§ 42-243. Actions of council; hearings; notice.

(a)

The city council shall meet and carefully consider the proposed budget as provided in F.S. § 200.065. The council shall use the city manager's proposed budget as a basis but shall have the authority to increase or decrease the amount of any line item.

(b)

In accordance with the rules and regulations of F.S. § 200.065 compliance requirements, the city council shall conduct public hearings for the adoption of the ad valorem tax and the budget. Advertisements for the public hearings shall be in accordance with F.S. § 200.065.

(c)

The city council shall have the right to amend or change the budget for the city as provided in F.S. § 200.065.
